Ayimba Names Squad for World Series Opener

Collins Injera will captain the Kenya Sevens team in the opening two legs of the 2015/16 World Sevens Series.

Injera, one of the top career try-scorers of all-time in the series, will skipper the side in the absence of bereaved skipper, Andrew Amonde who will miss both the opening leg in Dubai set for between 3-5 December and the Cape Town Sevens leg a week later.

Besides the KCB man, Mwamba RFC winger, Dennis Ombachi will also miss out as he will be graduating from college, while Homeboyz RFC’s center, Oscar Ayodi, will also not be available due to college commitments.

Kenya Sevens Head Coach Benjamin Ayimba announced the squad for the two legs, giving four players a chance to make their World Series debut. They include Kenya Harlequin’s Frank Wanyama, Menengai Cream Homeboyz’s Jeff Oluoch as well as Robert Aringo and Nelson Oyoo.

They join familiar faces led by Biko Adema, Willy Ambaka, Oscar Ouma, Billy Odhiambo, Leonard Mugaisi, Bush Mwale and Augustine Lugonzo.
