Bandari’s rich vein in form under new boss Bernard Mwalala has steered them to second spot in the Kenyan Premier League table, at least for the next 24 hours.
The Dockers’ long trip from Coast to Nairobi was well worth it as they put three goals past Posta Rangers in a 3-1 win at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds, Saturday (4) afternoon.
They were already on their way to victory at the break thanks to goals from Yema Mwana and Shaban Kenga who were both on target even before the midway point in the first half.
Mwana netted just 7 minutes in, tapping home Wilberforce Lugogo’s cross and Kenga sunk a header in after 23 minutes to give the journeymen a half time lead, thanks also in part to some fine saves from keeper Farouk Shikalo.
Posta halved the deficit just three minutes into the second half through Cavin Odongo but any hopes of a home fightback were blown away by substitute Wycliffe Ochomo who grabbed the third with his first touch.
This was the second game running that Bandari scored thrice following last week’s 3-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks. Next up, they face runaway league leaders Gor Mahia, held 2-2 by Nakumatt in Machakos.
Also winning on the day were Tusker FC who will leave Western Kenya with three points following a 2-0 success over Kakamega Homeboyz.
Vihiga’s relegation worries got compounded as they lost 1-0 away to Chemelil.
