Substitute Wycliffe Ochomo rounded up the scoring as hosts Bandari FC booked their spot in the FKF Shield last four with a resounding 4-1 victory over struggling Western Stima at the Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa.
Bandari, who undoubtedly have rediscovered their early season form, switched off Stima with two goals in both halves to join SS Assad in the semis with two other semifinalists to be decided on Sunday.
Assad had earlier edged fellow surprise package Congo Boys 2-1 in the preceding clash at the same stadium, Abdalla Mdeka netting twice before Edwin George scored a consolation for Congo.
Bandari, who got here by eliminating record champions Gor Mahia in the last 16, got off to a quick start and deservedly took the lead after quarter an hour when William Wadri slotted home from the spot after Shaban Kenga was fouled inside the box.
Kenga would double the tally at the stroke of half time after working his way past the visiting defence, the hosts going into the breather 2-0 up.
Stima pulled one back three minutes into the second half as a shot inside the area deflected off fullback Duncan Otewa, giving keeper Farouk Shikalo no chance.
Bandari however reclaimed their lead through Abdalah Hassan who hit home after 65 minutes as his high energy and decisiveness in the game reaped the desired results.
Ochomo, a first half substitute for Wadri who limped off injured, made the scoreline a rout from the spot after Hassan was illegally hauled down while driving forward for his brace.
Bernard Mwalala’s men and SS Assad will now await for the semis draw which will be conducted after the remaining two semis are played this Sunday as topflight side KCB host National Super League outfit Bidco United while holders Kariobangi Sharks also welcome the unpredictable Division One side Bungoma Superstars.
Both matches will be played at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
