The official draw for the 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup was conducted in Nairobi on Wednesday (Nov.11), discrediting an earlier list which widely circulated in the media.
In the new draw, Kenya will start their title defense against neighbors and record champions Uganda in Group B which also has Burundi and Zanzibar.
Hosts Ethiopia will embark on their hunt for their first title in 10 years in Group A alongside 1999 winners Rwanda, three-time champions Tanzania and Somalia who will be making only their second appearance in the competition.
Group C has 2013 losing finalists, Sudan, their border rivals South Sudan, Djibouti and Malawi who replace Zambia as the invitees in this year’s spectacle.
The competition kicks off in Ethiopia from November 21-6 December, 2015
Group A: Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Somalia
Group B: Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Zanzibar
Group C: Sudan, Malawi, South Sudan and Djibouti
