Manchester United have been drawn to face Belgian giants Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
Louis van Gaal’s men, who finished fourth in the league last season, will face Brugge in a two-legged affair whose winner will gain entry to the group stages of the competition. Brugge recovered from a 2-1 loss in the first leg, beating Greek side Panathinaiakos 3-0 to qualify for the play-off round 4-2 on aggregate.
United will host the first leg at Old Trafford, with the return fixture taking place at the Jan Breydel Stadium, Belgium.
The stand-out clashes of the play-offs round will see French giants Monaco battle La Liga side Valencia, while Italian side Lazio will take on Bundesliga hopefuls Bayer Leverkusen. Scottish champions Celtic will face Swedish side Malmo.
First-leg matches will be played on Tues/Wed August 18/19 with the return games on Tues/Wed August 25/26.
