A PSV fan has initiated legal proceedings on a referee and the country’s football association (KNVB) over a penalty decision awarded to title rivals Ajax in their 2-2 draw with Utrecht.
Marcel Blaak celebrated PSV’s 3-0 win over Roda JC on Saturday that put them one point ahead of Ajax who welcomed Utrecht to the Amsterdam ArenA on Sunday.
The game looked in the bag for Utrecht who were leading 2-0 after 84 minutes but after Davy Klaassen pulled a goal back for Ajax, Arek Milik converted a penalty three minutes later after Utrecht’s Willem Janssen was adjudged to have fouled the goal scorer with referee Danny Makkelie pointing to the spot.
The 2-2 draw saw Ajax pull level with PSV on 75 points with the former ahead on goal difference with three matches to go.
The decision caused outrage in Netherlands and it seems none was more angered than PSV supporter Blaak who is pressing charges on the official and KNVB.
“I have filed a charge against Danny Makkelie and, because he is part of the KNVB, I also pressed a charge against them,” PSV fan Marcel Blaak told Omroep Brabant.
“I’m fed up with the fact that Ajax always gets preferential treatment from the KNVB. What happened with that penalty is an absolute disgrace.
“Utrecht and PSV have been seriously effected by this. That’s why I want to take on referee Makkelie and the KNVB,” he said.
