Gor Mahia will be crowned Kenyan Premier League champions on Wednesday should they beat Nzoia United.
This is after they beat their closest challenger Sofapaka 2-0 to open a 10-point lead at the top of the league standings.
The victory, secured in Kisumu, left the 17-time champions needing only three points to take an unassailable lead against Sofapaka who can only reach a maximum of 68 points should they win their remaining 4 matches and Gor, somehow, fail to get more than two points in their remaining five.
The 2-0 victory was delivered courtesy of second half goals from Samuel Onyango and Jacques Tuyisenge.
After a barren first half, Onyango had the home side celebrating after 56 minutes with Tuyisenge doubling the tally 20 minutes later.
Should they beat Nzoia, Gor Mahia will set themselves up to receive a guard of owner from bitter foes AFC Leopards when they clash next weekend.
