KHU League: Warriors Aim to Stretch Lead, Orange Travel to Coast

Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) premier league defending champions Butali Sugar Warriors will have a chance to open a seven-point gap between them and Kenya Police when they play Parklands Sports Club on Saturday at City Park Hockey stadium.

Leaders and defending champions Butali have only lost one match this season which was to 2013 champions Police, who are second on the log with 24 points, just four behind.

Butali will have a chance to extend that lead should they beat Parklands while Police will be looking to take advantage of any slip ups in their away match to Mombasa Sports Club on Sunday.

Orange on the road

Seventeen-time KHU women’s national league champions Telkom Orange will also travel to Mombasa to play hosts Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) in one of the 10 national league fixtures for the weekend.

Orange are currently top of the league with 18 points ahead of Strathmore University who are three points adrift of the leaders.

Strathmore will not be in action this weekend and a win for Orange will give Meshack Senge a sleepless night in the coming few weeks. Senge is currently mourning the death of his father who passed away over the weekend.
