Kenya XI vs Uganda: Olunga on the Bench, Were Starts

Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi has gone for a 4-2-3-1 formation for the friendly match against Uganda Cranes which kicks off at 4pm at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.

On-fire Zesco United striker Jesse Were will lead the line with Francis Kahata playing just behind him as Eric Johanna and Ayub Timbe offer the pace and skills on either side of the wings.

Captain Victor Wanyama will play at the base of midfield alongside Antony Akumu. The two Davids, Ochieng and Owino will play at the heart of the defence with Eric Ouma and Musa Mohammed playing in the fullback positions. Boniface Oluoch will be in goal.

Michael Olunga will offer strength from the bench alongside Kenyan Premier League joint leading goalscorer John Mark Makwatta, Las Palmas midfielder Ismael Gonzalez and Plymouth Argyle defender Joshua Kemboi.

For Uganda, Gor Mahia winger Godfrey Walusimbi has been handed a starting berth, so has Khalid Aucho who recently sealed a move to South African side Baroka FC.
