In a move that is expected not to be received with any shock in the Kenyan football cycle, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will unveil Francis Kimanzi as the new head coach of the national team.
Kimanzi has been the understudy to Frenchman Sebastien Migne who has since severed ties with Kenya, the duo having led the Harambee Stars to its first Africa Cup of Nations since 2004.
It will be Kimanzi’s third bite of the national team cake, having been the boss from 2008-09 and 2011-12 with both stints not lasting a year.
Kimanzi was the head coach of Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United before he was lured to join Migne.
Another former national team head coach Zedekiah Otieno will be unveiled as Kimanzi’s assistant.
Zico was appointed the head coach of KCB FC but is now expected to assume both roles.
The unveiling is set for Friday, August 16.
