Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp broke his glasses in the pandemonium that followed Adam Lallana’s dramatic stoppage time winner against Norwich City.
The German manager had seen his team fight from 3-1 down to take a 4-3 lead in normal time but Sebastien Bassong hit the hosts’ equalizer in added time and it looked like the two clubs would have to settle for a point.
However, Lallana, who came on as a substitute, made full use of Liverpool’s final assault, hitting a volley off the ground to give the Reds a 5-4 win.
Klopp, who had been furious with the five additional minutes, went berserk and was mobbed by his players, breaking his trademark glasses in the process.
“I have a second pair of glasses, but I can’t find them,” said Klopp. “It’s hard to find glasses without glasses.”
Klopp broke his glasses before while at Borussia Dortmund and he revealed the pair is residing in BVB’s museum.
“We won for the first time against Bayern Munich and Nuri Sahin broke my glasses. Today it was Adam Lallana,” he added.
The result saw the Reds recover from an undeserved 1-0 loss against Manchester United last weekend. The Reds are seventh on the log, 8 points behind 4th-placed Tottenham.
