Leopards Held by Bogey Team Chemelil

Allan Kateregga scored a second half equalizer as AFC Leopards avoided their first defeat of the season against their bogey opponents, Chemelil Sugar, with the two sides settling for a one-all draw at the Nyayo Stadium on Sunday, March 13.

Dennis Onkangi had given the visitors the lead at the stroke of half time, heading home a cross from Hillary Echesa past Lucas Indeche who had hugely been underemployed with picking the ball from the back of the net his major work in the entire first half.

Chemelil offered little up front in the second half and it was Leopards who got a deserved equalizer, Kateregga tapping home his first goal for Ingwe from a floated cross from Mashemeji derby hero Lamine Diallo.

Kepha Aswani came close to netting the winner after connecting to a Kateregga corner late on but it would have been an unfair scoreline had any of the teams escaped with three points.

Leopards have won this tie only once now in their last 15 meetings while Chemelil have won 6 times.

The result sees Ingwe lose their top spot to Mathare United whose 1-0 defeat of Thika United makes them the new leaders thanks to their superior goal difference.

Brewers held

In Machakos, Tusker FC came from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 draw against Ushuru FC in and end to end clash. The visitors took a 36th minute lead through Eric Okoth, a lead they took to the half time break. The Brewers netted the equalizer through Mike Khamati in the 63rd minute but Rodgers Ochieng restored his team’s lead three minutes later.

Tusker had the last say in the match though as Collins Shivachi scored for a third straight match (one against his own team) in the 78th minute.
