With efforts to raise money through gate collections suffering a battering, AFC Leopards are set to hold another fundraiser on Friday August 7, 2015 to raise money to run the club and settle players’ salaries and allowances.
The club’s Secretary General Asava Kadima told Fourfourtwomedia.com that plans are underway for the function as the club tries to fend off any probable implosions ala the one it experienced towards the end of the first leg.
“As a club, we must come up with ways of ensuring the team is running properly, and since we have not managed to secure a sponsor, we have resorted to getting an alternative way of handling our issues.
“We have decided to hold another fundraiser on Friday to raise money to help us run the club smoothly, as well as settle player’s salaries and allowances,” said Kadima.
“I am taking this opportunity to call on all football fans, stake holders, and well wishers to come out in large numbers and help this great club. We have seen how committed the players are, including the technical bench, and we have to do our part and help them.”
Leopards, who currently lie fifth on the log with 35 points, held another fundraiser in late June where a total of Sh5.5 million was collected.
