Five games, four wins and a draw, that’s a record any manager can boast about. For Nicholas Muyoti, he knows that this is the beginning of good things to come.
Wins over Mathare United, Ulinzi, Chemelil and Bandari have propelled Kakamega Homeboyz to fifth in the Kenya Premier League(KPL) log.
A 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards was a bit of a setback but coach Muyoti says they expected tough resistance from the rejuvenated Leopards.
‘We knew they would come out full throttle and attack, we however had a game plan, to hold them then catch them on the counter, this worked well with us;’
‘I told my boys to soak in the pressure, the only mistake we did was to concede early on the game.’
The Homeboyz have been impressive this season and coach Muyoti attributes this to blending youth and experience.

‘We have a good squad with different qualities, with the blend of youth and experience, we have what it takes to finish in the top five come the end of the season.’
