Nakumatt Hit Homeboyz Six At Toyoyo

Nakumatt FC’s resurgence under new boss Mellis Medo continued on Sunday morning when they handed visitors Kakamega Homeboyz a 6-1 spanking in a Kenyan Premier League match played at the Camp Toyoyo.
Nakumatt started the match perfectly with Boniface Mukhekhe scoring inside the first minute of the game following a poor clearance by the Homeboyz defence off a corner.Ten minutes later, veteran midfielder Moses Odhiambo found Thomas Adwar and the latter headed home to stretch the lead.
In the 26th minute, Moses Chikati almost turned the ball into his own net as he attempted to cut off a powerfully freekick from Odhiambo who was enjoying the half. Homeboyz halved the deficit however in the 31st minute of the game when Andrew Waiswa powered home a header off Noah Wafulah’s corner.
Paul Nkata’s side started pressing high and amost drew level in the 35th minute when Wafula had his long range effort tipped away by the hawk eyed Indeche. The first half would then draw to a close with the homeside taking a 2-1 advantage to the dressing room.
Nakumatt’s electric start in the first half was replicated in the second half as they got their third of the game in the 46th minute when captain Kelvin Thairu rose to head home past Michael Wanyika who was having a torrid afternoon.
Noah Wafula almost made a response on the other end for Homeboyz in the 52nd minute but his shot from the right was punched away by Indeche. But Nakumatt were wheeling away again in the 67th minute, when Nyakan picked a through pass before beating Wanyika one on one.
He completed his brace five minutes later in the same fashion this time running into a Thairu through pass before shooting low past Wanyika.
Substitute Cornelius Juma fired home goal number four and five but the moment of the day belonged to Lucas Indeche. The Rasta keeper spotted Wanyika off his line and his 70-yard effort wheeled past a stranded Wanyika to the jot of the Nakumatt bench.
