Golden boot-chasing Nzoia United hitman, Elvis Rupia, added two more goals to his increasingly bloating season tally as his side got held to a 2-2 draw against Mathare United.
The reigning SJAK Player of the Month hit his goals number 13 and 14 in what is turning out to be a stellar season for him and the team.
With three minutes on the clock, Rupia had the crowd at Sudi Stadium in celebration as he lobbed the ball over Slum Boys keeper Robert Mboya.
The visitors equalized 15 minutes later through the lanky Samuel Olwande for a 1-1 half time scoreline.
Predictably, the one man who could next get on the score sheet, and did, was Rupia as he pummeled home in typical fashion to put his team back in the lead with half an hour to play.
The men behind him weren’t putting a good shift in however and he was kick starting play just six minutes later as the Slum Boys hit yet another equalizer through Cliff Nyakeya.
A hat trick would have been very welcome for the front man but there just wasn’t enough time as the final whistle ended the game at 2-2.
Mathare remained second on the log with 31 points but now level with Sofapaka who edged Chemelil 1-0.
Nzoia meanwhile remain 9th, four points behind the day’s opponents.
