Former Kenyan Premier League sides, Nakuru All Stars and KCB FC started their life in the second tier, the National Super League (NSL), with defeats away to Bidco United and Vihiga United respectively.
Far-traveling KCB left Kakamega with a disappointing 2-0 defeat hanging around their necks thanks to a goal apiece from Vihiga’s Patrick Okulo and Mike Isabwa.
All Stars didn’t fare any better as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Abdallah Juma’s Bidco United in Thika. Michael Bodo put Bidco ahead in the fifth minute, a lead they hang on to for the entire opening half. Elvis Rupia slotted home a deserved equalizer from the spot for All Stars but a Philip Ambuso own goal in stoppage time gave the full points to the hosts.
At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Ivan Mugisha’s solitary goal had hosts Palos FC celebrating a 1-0 victory over Nakumatt FC, while Agrochemicals stunned their hosts Oserian FC 2-0, Maxwell Onyango and Clinton Omondi with the goals.
In Nairobi, Kariobangi Sharks stormed to the top with a 3-0 victory over MOSCA while Nairobi Stima edged Police FC 1-0.
