The National Super League (NSL) entered matchday 6 this past weekend with 16 of the 20 teams in action.
Wazito FC and Nakuru All Stars opened the proceedings on Saturday, April 9 in a match the University side won 1-0, Wycliffe Wanjie netting the winner in the first half. The result lifted Wazito to 7th, one point and position above All Stars.
The biggest match of the round was on Sunday as title contenders Kariobangi Sharks and Nakumatt FC clashed came at odds as the Thika Stadium. The early morning battle lived up to its billing with the two sides brawling from the off before settling for a 1-1 draw, former Kenyan Premier League players Boniface Akenga and Ismail Dunga scoring for Sharks and Nakumatt respectively.
Sharks are now winless in their last four matches but the result saw them end Nakumatt’s three-game cleansheet run.
Zoo Kericho took full advantage of Nzoia United’s lack of weekend action as Mike Madoya gave them a 1-0 success over Police FC that took them top of the log. Agrochemicals edged winless Ligi Ndogo 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller as they went third, leapfrogging Vihiga United who battled to a 2-2 draw at Nairobi Stima.
Bidco United won only their second match of the season, beating FC Talanta 1-0 while Oserian and KCB settling for a one-all draw.
St. Joseph got their first win with a 2-1 defeat of Moyas FC.
Bottom side West Kenya Sugar, Modern Coast Rangers, Palos FC and Nzoia United did not play.
