AFC Leopards returned to winning ways as a goal either side of half time handed them a 2-1 victory over a spirited Posta Rangers at the Machakos Stadium.
Rodolfo Zapata’s men went into the clash at the back of two successive league defeats to Gor Mahia and stunningly to Wazito FC.
Posta looked completely in control during the early exchanges but it was the hosts who hit first via the towering Nigerian who put his side ahead just after the quarter hour mark, heading home a cross Brian Marita past Rangers keeper Gradus Ochieng.
Rangers kept threatening but bad to wait until the 34th minute to restore parity as Gearson Likono completed a fine build up from midfield, the two sides going into the break level.
Leopards substitute Vincent Oburu had a goal ruled out for offside while Posta went close through Jeremiah Wanjala and former Ingwe man Marcellus Ingotsi.
The duo had drawn 5 of their previous 7 matches and it look like a sixth draw was on its way as the minutes ticked.
However, Orotomal wasn’t done here yet and he gave his side the full points with his second and the winner four minutes to the final whistle as Leopards best Posta for the first time since a 6-2 rout in April 2012.
Victory sees Leopards move to within three points of second-placed Bandari FC who play their game in hand on Sunday.
