Shujaa in Must-win Clash against Fiji

Kenya Sevens must beat last season’s USA Sevens runners-up Fiji if they are to advance to the Main Cup quarters of this year’s competition currently ongoing at the Sam Boyd Stadium.

Innocent Simiyu’s side lost one and won one of their Group A matches in Las Vegas to put them on the brink of either advancing to the Main Cup, or dropping down to the Challenge Trophy.

Shujaa began their USA 7s campaign on a wrong footing, losing 19-14 to France with Sam Oliech and Willy Ambaka chalking over.

In the second match, veteran Collins Injera scored two tries to lead Kenya to a 19-12 victory over Russia.

Kenya sit second behind leaders Fiji who hammered Russia 38-0 and France 33-5. Kenya must win the 1136pm kickoff against Fiji or hope that Russia beat France for them to reach the last 8.
