Former KPL Champions Sofapaka and Tusker FC were engaged in a ridiculous 9-goal thriller on Sunday afternoon, which the former won by the odd goal.
The two sides exchanged leads early on as Sofapaka raced into a 4th minute lead courtesy of Kepha Aswani. Matthew Odongo dragged Tusker level five minutes later and Apollo Otieno gave the Brewers the lead which they crossed into the second half with.
The second half of SIX goals was opened by Ugandans Mathias Kigonya and Hashim Sempala, the keeper drawing Paka level from the spot before the latter restored his team’s lead.
Aswani’s second had Sofapaka level but not for long as Jackson Macharia made it 4-3 in Tusker’s favor.
Substitute Umaru Kasumba had the final say on the goal-crazy clash as he scored twice to give Sofapaka the full marks.
Tusker would lose Sempala for a second bookable offence as his side looked for an equalizer which never came.
The result leaves the 2016 league champions on 6 points from 7 matches, over half less than Sofapaka’s 13.
