The second edition of the SportPesa Super Cup tournament will be held in Nairobi in June. SportPesa CEO Captain Ronald Karauri said that the winner of this year’s edition will get a chance of a lifetime, to play English Premier League side Everton at the Goodison Park.
“I am very proud. I did not have a doubt it will happen. Kenyans love football,” Karauri said.
“In June we have the super cup, four teams from Tanzania and four from Kenya. This time Everton will not come to Kenya but the winner will travel to Goodison Park,”
The inaugural SportPesa Super Cup tournament was held in Tanzania last year with Kenya represented by Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Nakuru All Stars and Tusker FC. Gor Mahia beat AFC Leopards 3-0 in the final thereafter taking on Everton FC in Dar Es Salaam match that ended 2-1 in favor of the English Premier League side.
