Kenya women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, continued their build up for the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations by thumping Moroccan outfit Chabab Atlas Khenifra 6-1 in a friendly match held in the North African nation on Monday, October 17.
Neddy Atieno was the player of the match as she stepped in with a hat-trick. Captain Mary Kinuthia, Christine Nafula and Elizabeth Ambogo also added their names to the scoresheet as David Ouma’s side made it 14 goals in their two build-up matches in the country.
Starlets had on Saturday, October 15, hammered Wydad Casablanca 8-1. They were 5-0 up at half time with a brace from Nafula and single strikes from Atieno, Kinuthia and Esse Akida.
Cheris Avilia added the sixth and then Nafula completed her hat-trick with Corazone Aquino closing the floodgates.
The team will undergo three training sessions on Wednesday before jetting back into the country on Thursday, October 20, 2016, ahead of their friendly against Cameroon scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2016.
