The national women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, will play two high profile friendly matches in October in preparation for the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) to be held in Cameroon in November.
Starlets will face the Morocco national team between October 9 and 18 and then host Cameroon at home on October 23.
The friendlies will serve as a build-up for the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations set for November 19 to December 3 in Yaounde, Cameroon.
According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) the friendlies are meant to help the players prepare effectively for AWCON competition.
Starlets last week lost Tanzania 2-1 in the final of the Cecafa women tournament.
The David Ouma-led side booked their AWCON ticket after a 3-3 aggregate result against Algeria early this year.
Kenya have been drawn in Pool ‘B’ alongside title holders Nigeria and West African neighbours Ghana and Mali. They play Ghana on November 20 in the opener before facing Mali three days later before wrapping up the group stage fixtures with a match against Nigeria on November 26.
