When Tusker FC paraded their off-season signings early this week, nine to be precise, one stout figure was missing among the new faces: Harun Nyakha.
The former Green Commandos midfielder became one of the Brewers’ first signings, penning a three-year contract at the club.
He will however have to serve the first year of the contract outside the club after he was sent on a season-long loan to FKF Premier League outfit Agro Chemicals.
“The club felt that it be will good experience for me and that I’ll get a huge chance to develop there (Agro Chemicals) this season,” the pint-sized yet powerful midfielder told FourFourTwoMedia.com.
He continued: “It’s a challenge am really looking forward to as this is my first real crack in professional football.
“I will put the hard work in and hopefully come end of the season, or earlier, I would have convinced the technical staff that I can play at top level.”
Nicknamed ‘Capello’ by his teammates, Nyakha captained Kakamega High School, alias Green Commandos, to the 2014 Kenya Second School Games title where they beat Kisumu Day 1-0 in the final, Mathare United forward Alphonce Ndonye scoring the solitary goal.
He also captained the Kenyan COPA Coca-Cola team in South Africa in 2013 after being scouted during the national championships.
His new employers, Agro Chemicals, finished ninth in the 2015 FKF Premier League on 44 points, 27 points behind log leaders Posta Rangers.
