Kenyan Premier League leading goalscorer Allan Wanga grabbed his 14th goal of this campaign in stoppage time to guide Kakamega Homeboyz to a 1-1 draw with Gor Mahia at the Bukhungu Stadium, Friday afternoon.
Gor, who handed a debut to new signing Hashim Sempala, looked on course to nip the three points after Nicholas Kipkirui had headed them in front in the 40th minute, the former Zoo FC hitman continuing to prove he belongs with league goal number 7.
No striker, however, has been more prolific in front of goal this season though than Wanga and he ensured the home fans had enough to celebrate and talk about with a leveler at the death.
The result saw Homeboyz end a run of five consecutive defeats against the record league champions who won the first leg 2-1 which coincidentally was the last time the Kakamega side lost in the league, some seven matches ago.
Homeboyz move up to 4th with 38 points, 7 behind leaders Gor who have 4 games in hand over second-placed Sofapaka who are also with 45.
Kogalo, knocked out of the Caf Confederations Cup by RS Berkane, turn full attention to league duties where a busy schedule awaits; they will play every two days for the next 23 days, beginning with Ulinzi Stars this Sunday.
