Wanyama Absent as Migne Names Squad to Face Ghana

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama will not take part in this weekend’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier (AFCON) match against Ghana.

The Harambee Stars captain was omitted by head coach Sebastien Migne in the squad that was named on Wednesday morning at the team’s training camp.

Micheal Olunga, Jesse Were and Ovella Ochieng will headline the squad together with captain David Owino.

Olunga joined the rest of the squad on Tuesday evening at the Kenya School of Monetary studies where the team is camping.

Winger Ovella Ochieng, as well as midfielders Eric Johanna and Johanna Omollo have also made a cut into the 24-man squad.

The match has been scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani, starting at 4 pm with tickets set to retail at kshs 200 Regular and kshs 1000 VIP.

Also lined up is an international friendly match against Malawi, slated for Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the MISC Kasarani starting at 4 pm.
