National Super League (NSL) sides, Wazito FC and Zoo FC Kericho are mourning the demise of a player and an ardent fan respectively.
Wazito announced the passing on of midfielder Kelvin ‘Razor’ Ikatwa who died on Tuesday, March 15 afternoon. The club communicated in a statement: “Kelvin joined Wazito FC in 2012 from Tena FC. He was a polished midfielder and could play both in the offensive and defensive positions. He was also a hard but smart tackler.
“He was committed to the team, disciplined and a team player. Kelvin held Wazito in his heart and gave his all for the betterment of the club and his professional growth.
“Until his death, Kelvin was undertaking a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Nairobi. He was born on 10th of August, 1990.”
Also mourning are fellow NSL side Zoo who lost their No. 1 fan Kajungulu Junior to a bout of pneumonia. The club said, “We couldn’t think of a more profound dedication to our fallen soldier and fellow comrade, You served us too well, you poured out your heart in passion for us. Junior, Rest in Eternal Perfection, be at peace for you shall always be in our hearts.”
He will be laid to rest in Nakuru on Wednesday, March 16.
