Most Sports federations are afraid to approach corporate organizations for partnership for fear of being turned away.
Speaking during the Inaugural Special Olympics Youth Summit held in Nairobi from Wednesday , Chief Customer Officer at Safaricom Sylvia Mulinge stated that in most cases the cooperate world needs to work with the federations to ensure they meet their goal .
Mulinge added that sports makes people hoping and urged young athletes and youth to come up with ideas and present them to corporates for partnerships and sponsorships .
Speaking in the same event, Entrepreneur Wale Akinyemi stated that young athletes and youth have a lot to offer and they need to be harvested early.
The Special Olympics Youth Summit is the first ever to be held in Africa. Youth leaders and athletes with intellectual disabilities from a total of 12 countries took part in the three day summit slated to end on Friday.
