FKF to decide fate of abandoned Shield Cup matches

Football Kenya Federation will on this Wednesday decide on the fate of the Betway Shield Cup matches which did not take off last weekend.Notable round of 16 matches which were not played are;Gor Mahia vs Posta Rangers,KCB vs Wazito and Bandari vs Sofapaka.

The duo of Gor Mahia and KCB did not travel to honor their matches set for Afraha Stadium. They argued that their decision was informed by the government’s directive to suspend all public gatherings for a month as a precaution measure to the coronavirus pandemic.Sofapaka travelled to Mombasa for their match but were reportedly denied entry to the Mbaraki Stadium.Further,Bandari did not turn up for the match

“The FKF Leagues and Competitions committee will sit on Wednesday and review the matches on a case by case basis then  make a decision mostly based on the match officials report,” said Barry Otieno
